Enrolling your child in the Concordia School As you go through our Admissions process, you will learn more about our school and begin to share your child with us. It is our goal to make this transition for your family a positive and rewarding experience. Parents interested in enrolling their children -- or in more information -- will need to arrange a visit to the school. You'll have a chance to meet the classroom teachers and to tour our facilities. We have a packet of information that we'll be glad to give you at the time of this school visit. You may then fill out an application, and your child will be placed on our waiting list. As places become available, you'll be contacted to arrange an interview with the school's admissions team. This interview will enable us to place your child in the best possible learning environment -- and to provide our teaching staff with background information to tailor an educational program that meets your child's needs and potential. Children's House Children may begin attending our pre-school classes at the time of their second birthday. You may, though, enroll your child at any time. In fact, there is a waiting list for most of our classes, and the school gives preference to those children who have completed the application process and are pre-enrolled. Junior and Advanced Elementary Each year, the Concordia School is able to admit into our Elementary (for ages 5-13 years), a few students who have not attended our Children's House. We admit only those students we believe will truly benefit from our experienced teachers and the independent learning environment offered at the school. As we select transfer students into the Concordia Elementary, we look for children who enjoy what they are doing and have special interests to contribute to the group. A pre-requisite of the integrated learning program is the ability to self-monitor, with appropriate levels of independence. Through the multi-level, independently paced program, we encourage and accept a variety of academic study levels. All Concordia School classes are integrated by age, sex, ethnicity, race and religion to create a community in which we learn, work, play and celebrate together. We look forward to talking with you about your child becoming a part of our Concordia family. An investment in your child's future When you choose the Concordia School for your child, you are making an investment in the future, a future of achievement and satisfaction in the years to come. Our office staff will be glad to work with you to make it possible for your child to attend the Concordia School. If, at any time, you have further questions or concerns, please call our office. We are dedicated to serving your family's interests within the limits of our program. Office Hours: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Pacific Time Phone: 925-689-6910 |
